After changing address of permanent residence, you have to report your new address to a particular office („Ohlasovňa pobytu“) personally or electronically and report this change also to other offices.

Registration bureau  „Ohlasovňa pobytu“

- personally in registration bureau „Ohlasovňa pobytu“ or electronically.

Necessary documents for reporting changes of residence personally:

  • ID card;
  • the written consent of the owner (s) to apply for permanent residence (with verified signatures) is required in the case of absence of the apartment owner;
  • birth certificate and presence of 1 parent (child under 15);
  • when returning from abroad, a travel document or a certificate of citizenship (new version).
Note:
You can get confirmation of permanent residence electronically too. The administrator of the central reporting office is the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic.

New identity card

Where: Department of documents (District Police of Police force)
Documents: confirmation about new permanent residence, old identity card
Fee: 4,50 EUR

Reporting change to:

- health insurance provider, social insurance provider, insurance provider
- employer
- Trade Licensing Office, Tax office,
- bank, services providers, medical care providers

Report all changes with new identity card.

Note:
When changing your permanent residence, you do not need to obtain a new driver's license or passport, because these documents do not state the permanent residence address. However, this information can be found in the vehicle's technical certificate, so it is necessary to obtain a new document (within 30 days of this change).
