Staying abroad more than three months requires registration at local offices. Conditions are different.

The reason why you are abroad id vacation, registration is not necessary but! If your vacation is longer than 3 months, you should visit the nearest office.
Some countries although require to announce your presence immediately after your arrival.

Frequently asked questions and answers

1. I travel with my family to the Czech Republic for two weeks. Do I have to report my stay?
No. However, if your stay is extended for a period longer than 30 days (and the accommodation provider is not the landlord), report your stay to the relevant police.

2. I am a student. What do I need to register for a stay abroad in addition to an identity card / passport?
When registering a stay longer than 3 months, prove yourself with an identity card or passport and, as a student, provide proof of enrollment in a private / public institution accredited or funded by the host Member State, proof that you have comprehensive health insurance coverage and a statement that you have sufficient resources and you do not need income support (funds can come from any source).
