Termination of trading may apply to all lines of business indicated in the trade authorisation (termination of all activities of the entrepreneur), only to selected lines of business registered in the trade authorisation.

The entrepreneur shall specify a date as of which the termination of trading is required. The expiry of a trade authorisation takes effect as of the date specified in the notification of termination of trading, but where a later date is not specified in the notification of termination of trading, the trade authorisation shall expire as of the date following the receipt of the notification of termination of trading.

A notification of termination of trading shall be submitted in person at the Trade Licensing Office (PSC) or electronically. No administrative fee applies to the service. For electronic filing, use electronic service (only in Slovak). The form shall be signed with a qualified electronic signature.

Form: Notice of termination of business (only in Slovak) - no administrative fee applies to the service.

2. Notification of termination of business – electronically

Form: Business Termination Notification (only in Slovak) - the form shall be signed with a qualified electronic signature, no administrative fee applies to the service.

Termination of trading shall be notified to the PSC and competent authorities (the Financial Administration – the Tax Office, health insurance company and the Social Insurance Agency).

3. Sanction for conducting unauthorised business

Pursuit of business activities that are considered craft, regulated or unregulated trades without a trade authorisation may be subject to a fine for conducting unauthorised business.

The amount of fine depends on the line of unauthorised trading. For unauthorised trading subject to:

  • unregulated trade – the Trade Licensing Office shall impose a fine of up to EUR 1 659,
  • a craft or regulated trade – the Trade Licensing Office shall impose a fine of up to EUR 3 319.
