Slovak standards and standard information documents

Slovak standards (referred to as "STN") is a technical standard adopted by the Office for Standardisation, Metrology and Testing of the Slovak Republic (referred to as “ÚNMS SR”, from the Slovak original - Úrad pre normalizáciu, metrológiu a skúšobníctvo Slovenskej republiky) as the Slovak national standardisation body into the STN system.

Technical standardisation information (referred to as “TNI”) is a standardisation document prepared by the European standardisation organisation, international standardisation body or ÚNMS SR as the Slovak national standardisation body and adopted by the ÚNMS SR as the Slovak national standardisation body in the STN system. TNI is not considered as STN.

STN and TNI are documented agreements that provide rules, directives, instructions or characteristics of activities or their results, which ensure that materials, products, processes and services are fit for purpose, at a given time and at a given stage of scientific and technological development. Adherence to STN and TNI is voluntary, but advantageous.
