Frequently asked questions and answers
1. Where can I find out which GP is for the district I am moving into?
The selection of a doctor according to the health district is not obligatory, but if you do not have a specific health care provider, you can register for a doctor according to the health district to which the patient belongs.
You can find out which doctor you belong to through the relevant self-governing region or through the electronic service Informovanie občanov o ich príslušnosti k zdravotnému obvodu (Informing citizens about their affiliation to the health district).
2. How do I know if the district I want to move into is safe?
The Police of the Slovak Republic regularly publishes maps of criminal offenses (only in Slovak), which clearly show the level of danger in a given district. An overview of police stations can be found on the website of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic in the section Regional Directorates - District Directorates (only in Slovak).
